Anglers claim to have hooked the largest shark in British waters

Two anglers are claiming to have hooked the biggest shark ever caught in British waters.

Graeme Pullen and Wayne Comben were fishing off north Cornwall, when they hooked a 10 foot Porbeagle they claim was over 500lbs, just a few hundred yards from the shore.

The shark was tagged and released alive.

But David Gibson of the National Marine Aquarium welcomed the release, saying that landing a vulnerable shark, such as the Porbeagle, would have been "morally unethical."

Scott Bingham reports.
