Assange: 'May feel Ecuador is sympathetic to his stand'

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who is wanted for questioning in Sweden over rape and sexual assault allegations, has sought asylum at Ecuador's London embassy.

Mr Assange, 40, denies any wrongdoing.

Peter Jorro, an immigration lawyer, told the BBC that diplomatic asylum is usually claimed with nationals of the country concerned, but Mr Assange probably feels Ecuador is more sympathetic to his stand vis-a-vis the United States.
