John Terry race trial hears FA tape recorded after game

Extract from John Terry's FA interview - contains strong language which has been bleeped

Westminster Magistrates' Court has heard a recording of the FA's interview with footballer John Terry, recorded a week after the game last October in which he allegedly racially abused QPR's Anton Ferdinand.

In the recording, the Chelsea captain tells FA investigator Jennifer Kennedy that he thinks he heard Mr Ferdinand say he had been sworn at in racial terms.

Mr Terry said: "I have been called a lot of things in my football career and outside of football as well, but being a racist is not one I am prepared to take at all.

"That's why I came out and made my statement instantly.

"I am not having anyone, let alone Anton, think that at all about me because that is not my character at all."
