US police release video of red light crash
Police in the US state of New Jersey have released CCTV footage of a dramatic crash to warn drivers of the dangers of jumping a red light.
The video shows a car approaching a junction at high speed, ignoring the red light, before crashing into another vehicle and a set of traffic lights.
According to local media, the only person who was hurt was a 29-year-old man who suffered minor injuries and was arrested for drink driving.
Many drivers are opposed to the use of red light cameras, which are used to fine motorists for traffic violations; police hope the video will persuade them that the cameras are a necessary deterrent to bad driving.
