Olympics security troops to be boosted by 1200

An additional 1200 troops are to be deployed at the Olympics, amidst ongoing concerns about security staffing levels.

Ministers took the decision this morning at a Cabinet Committee for the Olympics chaired by Prime Minister David Cameron.

Speaking after the meeting, Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt said "nothing should be left to chance".
