Assange: UK will not give Wikileaks founder safe passage

Britain is locked in a heated diplomatic row with Ecuador over the fate of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

Mr Assange took refuge in Ecuador's London embassy in June and has now been granted diplomatic asylum by the country to thwart the British government's attempts to extradite him to Sweden over allegations of sexual assault.

The UK Foreign Office has said there is no threat to enter the embassy, but no safe passage will be granted to Assange if he leaves the embassy.

James Robbins reports.
