Couple 'hurt' at lottery fraud as shop worker is jailed

A couple from Greater Manchester have said they were ''hurt'' and ''disappointed'' by a shop worker's attempt to defraud them of their £1m lottery winnings.

Fred and Maureen Holt told 30-year-old Farrakh Nizzar to bin what they were told was a worthless ticket.

After they left the shop, Nizzar called the lottery hotline and tried to claim the jackpot for himself.

He has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for falsely trying to claim the prize.
