Jimmy Savile abuse investigation widens

Police investigating claims of sexual abuse by the former DJ and presenter Jimmy Savile are understood to be working on an arrest strategy for other living suspects potentially connected with his alleged crimes.

More than 400 lines of inquiry are being pursued with the number of alleged victims nearing 300. Savile's great-niece has come forward to speak of her experience of abuse.

The Crown Prosecution Service has been criticised for failing to pursue allegations made against Savile three years ago.

Phil Lavelle reports.
