Jimmy Savile investigation police arrest Freddie Starr

Comedian Freddie Starr has been arrested by police investigating sexual abuse allegations against Jimmy Savile.

In a statement, officers said a man in his sixties, and from Warwickshire, was detained on suspicion of sexual offences.

The BBC's David Sillito said Freddie Starr had ''strenuously denied'' the allegations made against him, and had wanted to speak to police to clear his name.
