Prisons minister Jeremy Wright: G4S bid not 'compelling enough'
Prisons minister Jeremy Wright has said GS4, the firm at the centre of the Olympics security shambles, has lost the contract to run Wolds prison in East Yorkshire because it failed to put forward a cost-effective proposal.
Mr Wright told the BBC News Channel that decisions against G4S had nothing to do with what happened over the Olympics. He said other bids, particularly from the public sector, "provided a better quality service at a lower price".
