Christmas lights: Designing Regent Street's display

Christmas lights are being switched on in towns and cities across the UK.

The latest to be lit up, and some of the most famous, are on Regent Street in central London.

Thousands of people turned up for the switch on, by members of Team GB and ParalympicsGB.

Gold plaques tell the story of the twelve days of Christmas surrounded by branches made of sparkling lights.

But how was it all done?

Paul Dart, from James Glancy Design explains how he came up with this year's designs, and Lee Harvey from Piggots outlines how the plans were turned into reality.
