Yvette Cooper: PCC polls 'a shambles'

The shadow home secretary has criticised the government's decision to hold elections for police and crime commissioners in England and Wales - amid concerns about the low turnout.

Speaking to the BBC, Yvette Cooper said that the polls had "proved a complete shambles" and suggested that the £100m cost of the elections would have paid for 3,000 police officers.
