David Cameron on Corby: 'A classic mid-term result'

Prime Minister David Cameron has dismissed his party's loss in the Corby by-election, describing it as a "classic mid-term result".

Labour's Andy Sawford won by 7,791 votes, with the Tories second and UKIP third.

Former MP Louise Mensch, a Conservative, angered people in Corby when she stood down after just two years to move to New York with her family earlier this year.
