Women bishops: Church of England General Synod to vote

The Church of England's governing General Synod will meet in London this week to decide whether to give the go ahead to women bishops.

The incoming Archbishop of Canterbury, the Right Rev Justin Welby, is in favour of the move, saying that he is "deeply committed" to the ordination of women to the role but there is strong opposition from traditionalists.

BBC Radio 5 live Morning Reports spoke to Christina Rees, a member of the General Synod who campaigns for female bishops.

She said there were "no more words" on the debate, adding that this was "make up our minds time"
