'BBC change needs to start now'
The BBC's own inquiry into Newsnight's shelving of a report into sexual abuse by Jimmy Savile has criticised BBC management but found no evidence of a cover-up.
Speaking to The World at One programme on BBC Radio 4, Ben Bradshaw MP, former culture secretary and a member of the Commons Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee as well as a former BBC journalist, said that the question is "whether the BBC's management response to those criticism [made in the report] will be adequate."
He went on to remark that change in the BBC "needs to start now".
"The future of the BBC, and peoples' trust in the BBC" is what is at stake here, he added.
