Gay clergy: Celibacy promise to become bishop

The Church of England has dropped its opposition to gay clergy becoming bishops on the condition that they promise to be celibate.

Gay rights groups have welcomed the move but some evangelical groups say they will fiercely resist the change, calling the decision "divisive".

Rev Ian Stubbs, who has campaigned on behalf of gay rights within the church, said he had mixed views about the decision.
