CPS faces 'watershed moment' over Savile failings

Prosecutors and the police have been criticised for failing to pursue sex offence claims against Jimmy Savile, in a report by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

The report focused on a decision in 2009 not to charge Savile with offences in relation to four complaints made to police in Surrey and Sussex.

Director of public prosecutions (DPP) Keir Starmer apologised on behalf of the CPS and said the report represented a "watershed moment".

The BBC's legal affairs correspondent Clive Coleman reports.
