UK snow: Band of snow begins to spread

Heavy snow is beginning to fall across parts of the UK, as forecasters warn that large swathes of England could see up to 4in (10cm) fall on Monday.

Amber "be prepared" warnings for snow in north-east England, Yorkshire and Humber, and the East Midlands remain in place, the Met Office said.

It follows a light dusting in some parts of England and Wales overnight.

The BBC's Simon McCoy, Louise Hubball and Fiona Trott report from snowbound areas of UK.
