Algeria siege: Hague condemns 'wanton act of terrorism'

The Algerian operation at a gas facility in the desert where Islamist militants have been holding foreign hostages has not ended, UK officials say.

The Foreign Secretary William Hague has repeated that the situation in Algeria was "fluid and evolving."

He added that: "I again condemn utterly the wanton act of terrorism carried out against workers in Algeria" and "the responsibility lies squarely with terrorists."
