Benefit changes may cause evictions, says housing federation

Changes to housing benefit could lead to a rise in evictions, according to the National Housing Federation (NHF).

From October, the payment will no longer be made directly to landlords but to their tenants once a month.

The NHF, which represents some of Britain's biggest landlords, said they expected rent arrears to increase by a £250m a year.
