Horsemeat scandal: Minister prepares for more bad results

The environment secretary has said there may be "more bad news" regarding the horsemeat scandal as products are tested in the coming days.

It comes after Owen Paterson met retailers and the Food Standards Agency to ask how "beef" products containing up to 100% horsemeat were sold.

Following his meeting Mr Paterson said he wanted an "increased inspection regime".

"It is completely unacceptable that products have been put on sale to British consumers marked as beef that contained considerable volumes of horse", he said.
