Horsemeat scandal: Council attempts to reassure parents

Catering giant Compass Group and Whitbread, one of Britain's largest hotel chains, have found horse DNA in products sold as beef, it has emerged.

Horsemeat has also been found in cottage pies supplied to 47 schools in Lancashire. These have been withdrawn.

Speaking to the BBC's Andy Gill, councillor Geoff Driver from Lancashire County Council said that all schools in the county had been notified, and parents were being reassured that "it's not a health issue."
