'Bionic legs' for military amputees
Former soldiers who lost limbs during active service will be guaranteed the most up-to-date prosthetic limbs available after the government announced a £6.5m funding boost.
The latest technology micro processor limbs, known as "bionic legs", will be available to all members of the armed forces who have been wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan.
The £6.5 million in new funding has been made available from the Treasury's special reserve by Chancellor George Osborne.
At Headley Court Military Rehabilitation Centre military personnel were keen to try out the legs.
