Abu Qatada deportation appeal hearing to begin

The home secretary's lawyers are to ask the Court of Appeal later to overturn a block on deporting the radical cleric Abu Qatada.

Last year judges told Theresa May that the radical preacher could not be sent to Jordan, where he faces a retrial for alleged involvement in terrorism plots.

Mrs May says the court applied the wrong legal test.
