Maria Miller on Leveson: Royal charter is 'right solution'

A deal has been struck between the three main political parties on measures to regulate the press, culture secretary Maria Miller has confirmed.

It comes after talks were held overnight between the Lib Dem and Labour leaders and a Cabinet Office minister on a new press watchdog.

Maria Miller said that the agreement proved that a royal charter establishing a new watchdog, an idea backed by David Cameron, is "the right solution".
