Popularity of scouting leads to volunteer shortage

More adult volunteers are needed for the 35,000 young people currently waiting to join the scouting movement, which already has well over half a million members.

Tim Kidd, the Scouts Commissioner for England, told the BBC that volunteers "can be trained and do not need special skills".

The Duchess of Cambridge is a trained volunteer and helps out at a scout group close to her home in North Wales.

The BBC's Graham Satchell spoke to some scouts and volunteers.
