Phone hacking: Milly Dowler police 'collective amnesia'

Former senior officers at Surrey police have been strongly criticised for their "collective amnesia" over their failure to investigate an allegation that the voicemail of missing schoolgirl Milly Dowler had been hacked.

A report by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) found that Surrey police were aware of an allegation of phone hacking 2002, when Milly went missing, but failed to act.
