Stuart Hall in the public eye

Stuart Hall, who has admitted indecently assaulting 13 girls, rose to fame hosting the TV game show It's A Knockout in the 1970s.

He later became the voice of lyrical football reports on BBC radio and the face of regional news in the north-west of England for more than 25 years.

The 83-year-old pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court to 14 charges of indecently assaulting girls including one as young as nine, between 1967 and 1985.

Danny Savage reports on the police investigation.
