German bomber's last flight

Description of the last flight of a German Dornier 17 bomber, which took off from St Trond in Belgium in August 1940.

After being shot down by British fighters over the Kent coast the bomber was forced to make a crash landing on the Goodwin Sands.

Rediscovered on the seabed in 2011, the plane is soon to be salvaged and restored at the RAF Museum, Cosford.
