Nigel Evans says rape claims are 'completely false'
The Conservative MP Nigel Evans has said allegations of rape and sexual assault made against him are "completely false".
The deputy House of Commons speaker, 55, was arrested on Saturday and questioned about alleged attacks on two men, the BBC understands.
The alleged offences took place between July 2009 and March 2013, according to Lancashire Police.
But in a statement to journalists on Sunday, Mr Evans expressed his "sense of incredulity at these events".
He has been bailed until 19 June.
