Afghan interpreters to get right to live in UK

Up to 600 Afghan interpreters who worked alongside British troops are to be given the right to live in the UK.

Ministers had previously said that they should not get the same resettlement rights as their counterparts in the Iraq conflict.

But there were fears that interpreters who stayed in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of coalition troops would be at risk of reprisals from the Taliban.
