Bomber recovery: 'We're having difficulties'

A plan to raise the last remaining example of a World War Two Dornier bomber from the bottom of the English Channel has run into difficulties as a result of the recent bad weather.

The RAF Museum, which hopes eventually to put the wreck on display, has been forced to ditch its original strategy for lifting it and adopt a riskier approach.

Speaking to the Today presenter John Humphrys, Ian Thirsk, the RAF Museum's head of collections, explained that the project has run into difficulties as a result of the recent bad weather.

"We need to get the aircraft raised within the next week," he explained.
