'Front-line services protected from cuts' - Philip Hammond

Front-line military services will not face further cuts, the defence secretary has confirmed.

Speaking on a trip to Afghanistan, Philip Hammond said the current savings review would focus on "efficiency savings".

British troops are preparing to withdraw from the country but Afghan losses are rising sharply.
