Bristol launches car-free Sundays

A once-a-month trial has started in Bristol, where streets in a small part of the city centre will be closed to motor vehicles on Sundays.

The mayor says if the idea, based on similar schemes in Bogota and Bordeaux, is successful he hopes to widen the area involved and increase its regularity.
