Battersea power station to be renovated into apartments and shops

Renovation work is due to get under way at one of Britain's best known buildings, Battersea Power Station.

The building has been bought by a consortium of Malaysian companies, who plan to build hundreds of apartments and offices, shops and even a theatre.

The power station was decommissioned in 1983 and has been vacant for the past 30 years, but has changed hands several times.

Steph McGovern reports.
