Daniel Pelka stepfather 'punished boy at mother's request'

The man accused of murdering four-year-old Daniel Pelka has told a court that the boy's mother was prone to drunken violent outbursts.

The child died from head injuries in Coventry last year.

Stepfather Mariusz Krezolek admitted hitting the boy, but said that he did so at his partner Magdelena Luczak's request.

They have admitted child cruelty but deny murder.
