Len McCluskey: Miliband union speech 'bold and brave'

The Labour leader, Ed Miliband, has set out was he called "big and historic" changes to his party's relationship with the trades unions by promising to abolish the automatic "affiliation" fee paid by three million union members to Labour.

The Unite union, one of the party's biggest donors, says its support will depend on the details of Labour's proposed changes.

But the union's general secretary, Len McCluskey, said Mr Miliband's speech provided a framework for discussion:
