Leaving Afghanistan: UK troops packing up Camp Bastion

As the withdrawal of British troops steps up in Helmand, so too does the logistical operation of bringing back thousands of tonnes of kit deployed over the past decade to help UK forces fight the Taliban.

Armoured vehicles are being cleaned and everything from ammunition cases to pallets are being salvaged.

It is one of the biggest logistical tasks the military has faced for a generation.
