Children invited to befriend terminally ill hospice patients
A hospice in Newcastle is inviting local primary school children to befriend some of its terminally ill patients.
The Daffodil Project, run by the Marie Curie Cancer Care Charity, hopes to help the 10-year-olds understand the idea of incurable illness, loss and the taboos around death.
Andrew Grundy, a patient at the hospice, says that having the children around has helped, "you do forget to be a kid now and then".
