David Raikes and WWII poetry evaluated

The poetry of WWI is well known and taught at school, but the poets of WWII did not achieve the same critical acclaims.

RAF bomber David Raikes was one such poet, and he along with his crew have received a military burial after their remains were discovered in Italy in 2011.

Author and lecturer Daniel Swift, of New College of the Humanities in London told Evan Davis that WWII poets posed "different moral questions" to their WWI counterparts, that may have contributed to less recognition.
