Church plans to compete with payday lender Wonga

The Archbishop of Canterbury is understood to be "furious" after the Church of England confirmed it invests indirectly in online lender Wonga.

Earlier, the Archbishop. Justin Welby, said the church will "compete" with Wonga - by providing premises and expertise to non-profit making credit unions.

Wonga said it welcomed any competition.
