Edinburgh Zoo staff are hoping for a perfect panda birth

Staff at Edinburgh Zoo are preparing for the possible arrival of the first panda cub to be born in Britain.

Tian Tian continues to show positive signs she is pregnant and, if she is, the birth is expected within the next two weeks.

Iain Valentine, director of giant pandas for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, told the BBC's Lisa Summers the first 30 days after birth were "critical".

He said: "If she gives birth, we hope she will rear it perfectly for us."
