Orkney marine energy tests turn waves into electricity

Two thirds of people in the UK would like to see more renewable energy sources developed in their area, a survey has revealed.

The study by BBC Radio 5 Live also found 84% of respondents wanted to see an expansion in the use of solar power.

Jenny Hill travelled to Orkney, where a number of successful renewable energy sources are already being harnessed.

Scientists are now testing several new devices aimed at turning the energy from our oceans into electricity.
