Sarah Teather MP was 'unhappy with coalition'

Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather has announced she will stand down at the next general election.

Ms Teather cited "some aspects of government policy" as the reason for leaving her position.

Looking back on her political career, the BBC's Gary O'Donoghue told the Today programme that Ms Teather's "unhappiness with parts of the coalition programme was never far from the surface".

Baroness Susan Kramer described her as an "amazing constituency MP" and a "very effective minister".

First broadcast on the Today programme on Monday 9 September.
