Nigel Evans MP in court over sex charges

Nigel Evans MP has appeared in court accused of a number of sex offences, including rape and sexual assault.

The MP for Ribble Valley, who stepped down as deputy speaker of the House of Commons last week, did not enter a plea.

The case has been referred to the crown court.
