Illegal migrants face crackdown under tough new bill

A bill aimed at curbing illegal migrants will require banks and landlords to check the immigration status of people applying to them.

Home Secretary Theresa May says the laws will make it much more difficult for people to settle illegally in the UK, but Labour says the bill does not address "some of the biggest issues".
