Main parties agree press regulation deal

The three main political parties have agreed a deal on press regulation.

It follows months of wrangling since Sir Brian Leveson published his report into the ethics and practices of the press.

Some newspapers have proposed their own, rival system of self-regulation.

Chairman of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, John Whittingdale, said his concern was a charter none of the newspaper industry would support.
