Press regulation: 'Time for new complaints system' - Harman

Newspaper publishers have lost a bid to stop ministers going to the Privy Council later to seek the Queen's approval for a royal charter on UK press regulation.

Shadow Culture Secretary Harriet Harman said she believed now was the time for a new independent press complaints system to be put in place.

But added all were agreed on the importance of the freedom of the press.
