Prince Harry makes final preparations for South pole trek

Prince Harry has given his first interview from Antarctica, ahead of his trek to the South Pole later this week.

He's part of one of three teams who will trek up to 12 miles (20km) a day, coping with temperatures as low as minus 45C.

The prince had been due to spend the next few days acclimatising to conditions in the region, but has been mainly confined to his living quarters because of the treacherous weather.

Nicholas Witchell reports.
