PM David Cameron hails Afghan 'job very well done'

Prime Minister David Cameron has said that British troops can leave Afghanistan in 2014 with "heads held high" after a "job very well done".

Mr Cameron admitted that things were "not perfect" in the country, but said Afghanistan was no longer a haven for terrorists and now had its own security forces capable of delivering basic security.

"We see a situation totally transformed," he added.

The prime minister was speaking as he visited British troops serving in Helmand Province.
